Orange "carrot" Xingu Pike Cichlid (Crenicichla sp. 'Xingu I')

The Orange Carrot Xingu Pike Cichlid is a striking freshwater species native to the Xingu River in Brazil. This vibrant cichlid demands a well-established aquarium of at least 75 gallons with plenty of hiding spaces among rocks and driftwood.

Maintain water temperature between 75–82°F with neutral to slightly acidic pH (6.0–7.0) and excellent filtration to keep water quality pristine. 

These predatory fish require a carnivorous diet of high-quality pellets, frozen foods, and live prey. They are territorial and aggressive toward smaller fish and other pike cichlids, making them best suited for experienced aquarists.

Provide dim lighting and minimal disturbance to reduce stress. Regular water changes and careful tank mates selection are essential for their long-term health and vibrant coloration.
